A sour wheat beer with a centuries-old tradition, this Berlin specialty risked oblivion before coming back into vogue thanks to the recent craft beer movement. A straw-colored beer with a light and elegant body and a moderate acidity, our interpretation features a distinctive cereal flavor with hints of spices.

Draft glass @ Moeder Lambic Original. Totally clear & very pale citrus beer with little disappearing white head. Nose is massively big on soap, overly heavy so, loads of dishwashing soap with a vague milky sourness. Taste is quite poor very heavy on dishwashing soap, artificial lemon, citrus, more cheap soup & vague spoiled milk sourness. Thin bodied & flimsy, thin soapy. Not a fan at all reminds me of Berliner Kindle (but it isn’t that bad) as well as some more attempts at making a more traditional Berliner Weisse. Traditional tasting or not I simply didn’t enjoy this.

Bottle @ LIBF’16. Shared with the RB Belgian team.

One of the lesser Berliner Weisses of this festival, and we have had quite a few. Clear very pale beige beer, no head. Aroma: weird, malty, grains. MF: no carbon, light body. Taste: sourish, watery, bit lemony, vinegar. Aftertaste: watery, little sour, lemony touch. Not much flavour.

No head; extremely pale golden beer. Lactic acid, fresh green herbs, excitatory acidity. Light sourish, lactic/milky/buttermilk, but resulting in a soft acidity with a fruity or veggie sweetness in the background. Very light body, undercarbonated, certainly for the style. Light, but pleasing.
