Tasting at Bruce’s Pad. Thanks to Josh, never thought I would get to try this. Opaque dark brown beer with a small pale tan head. Palate is soft and a little dry. Smooth dark malts with nicely rounded vanilla. Touch of wood. Mellow dark fruits underneath. Whisper of aniseed. Nice.

Bottle shared at my 5K tasting at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to Mr Charles Chaplain for another Aussie tick, 13/11/13. Mid black with a good sized tan head. Nose is light roast, bourbon infused, dark fruits, soft oaky booze, mellow, dark toffee exhaust. Taste comprises light roast, dark chocolate, bourbonic woodness, molasses, toffee fudge. Full bodied, fine carbonation, smooth on the palate. Decent BA impy, the bourbon is pretty subtle, nice work.

Bottle, big thanks to Josh. It pours darkest brown with a medium light tan head. The nose is rich roast, cocoa, earth, juicy, caramel, toffee, dried fruit oak and vanilla. The taste is roasted malt, toast, earth, pretty dry, light metallic notes, wood, aniseed, alcohol warmth, vanilla and marshmallow. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Tasty and well-balanced. A great beer to end the night with!

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - huge thanks to Josh for this Oz whale. Pours deep brown, clear, with a frothy tan head. Nose holds burnt wood, dry chocolate, dried dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor, some charred wood, light baking cocoa, burnt marshmallows. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Well balanced to finish, good roasted malts, more burnt marshmallows, light vanilla, hints of dark fruits, dark chocolate. Rich with nice balance. Really solid.

Bottled, thanks baggio! Black, faint head. Oaky nose with some raspberry. Mid sweet, plenty of licorice, near full body. Aniseed and oak. The oak seem to have toned down the rich chocolaty flavours, all in favour of oak. Salty, mildly warming finish.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, wood, brettanomyces, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, bread, and a bit of brettanomyces, leading to a lightly tart finish.
