Black color with a fine tan head. Licorice, coffee and roasted aroma. Medium (+) body and a fine carbonation. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Licorice, coffee and roasted flavor. Decent nice porter.

Bottle @ The Cad’s 10yr Shindig. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty bitter caramel finish.

Bottle at The Cad’s 10yr Shindig thanks to Leighton. It pours deep red-brown with a small white head. The nose is toasty, earth, caramelised stuff and some coffee notes. The taste is bitter, roasted malts, ash, burnt stuff, dark fruits and some acidity with a very dry finish. Medium body and fien carbonation. Pretty, pretty dry. Overly so.

Bottle at the Cads 10th Anniversary bash, thanks to Leighton, 29/03/15. Mahogany brown with a decent tan covering. Nose is light charr, smoke, earthy cocoa rub, darm fruit rinds, spice. Taste comprises toffee, charr, raisens, dark fruits, light chocoalte, dark malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok porter.

Bottle shared at the Cad’s 10th Anniversary Tasting - CBC Clerkenwell, London. This one I brought; I have no idea where I got it (maybe a webshop). Pours clear, reddish brown with a frothy, tan foam head. Toasty bread in the nose with accents of ripening berries. Medium sweet flavor with suggestions of cocoa, toasted bread, earth, leather. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Finishes moderately sweet with notes of dry chocolate, earth, burnt wood and subtle dried fruits. Nice one.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Very dark red with a creamy off-white head. It’s smooth tasting, but not velvet-like as the name might suggest with dark malts evident but not as strong tasting as its content suggests.

Cask at cloisters. Pours black with a thin beige head. Aromas of chocolate and tropical fruit. Taste is fruity bitter, some roast. Medium body, creamy texture, bitter finish. Interesting.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Clear dark amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, smooth and semi dry. Fine carbonation. Bitterish toffee malts. Little dried fruits. Nicely judged amount of mint. Light finish. Well joined up and quite refreshing.

Cask gravity at the Pig’s ear 2014. Reddy, dark caramel coloured pour with a dirty Tam head. Aroma is faint polo mint and nutty malt with a little bit of tasted bread. Peppermint. Flavour is composed of peppermint, choc powder, nutty malts, toothpaste. Palate is medium light with low carbonation. Lingering fresh mint and stale coco.
