What we really want to write here is just Pale Ale… but that’s not very informative (nor should it be). We want to shout it at people. Get them excited. People nowadays rarely get excited about a pale ale. Pale Ale! This beer is a collaboration between Dugges Bryggeri and Cloudwater Brewing Co., Manchester, UK. We wanted to explore the cooperation between a soft, biscuity malt base and lots and lots of fruity hops. We wanted to make a modern pale ale staple. The one you have in your fridge at all times. The goto. The neo-session. The pale ale, pale ale, pale ale. Vienna malt and oats gives the base, American hops in abundance gives the treble. And in the middle, there’s just pure delight. Pale ale!

Bottle at home. Has a hazy amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, ammonia, hay and caramel. The flavour is quite similar with mango, grapefruit, grass, pale malt and bread in the end. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a medium bitterness. Hoppy and tasteful.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Kris Wines. Pours hazy orange-gold with a frothy, pure white head. Nice aroma, fresh citrus fruits, a little sourdough bread, tangerine, lemon, papaya, light pine. Light to medium sweet flavour with restrained pale bread character, with a lot of vibrant, juicy citrus on top of that, mild bitterness, more tangerine especially, some rindy bitterness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Well balanced finish, with more tangerine, a little peach, orange rind, mango, soft pine. Overall, it’s an excellent beer.

Hazed golden color with a fine white head. Nice lacing. Looks ok. Fine intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and a fine carbonation level. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Semi dry ending. Citric, herbal/grassy, fruity and pine in the flavor. Ok tasty and refreshing stuff.

Flaska från SB. Rejält disig gulorange vätska med lågt skum. Doft av kåda och tropisk frukt. Mjuk lite havreskummig munkänsla, kådig smak med tallskott, ananas, mango, lichie med en lätt men stram kådig beska. Trevlig NE-APA. Gott.

10/VI/17 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ my parents' place - BB: 28/III/18 (2017-802)
Clear blond beer, small creamy off-white head. Aroma: very fruity, lots of grapefruit, passion fruit, orange peel, mango, pineapple, such a lovely fruit cocktail! Really super fresh hops! MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, some sweet caramel malts, lots of citrus, grapefruit, passion fruit, mango, pretty bitter, bit resinous. Aftertaste: sweet, very fruity, mango, orange peel, nice bitterness, citrus, some pineapple. No idea why this is classified as a pale ale. I'd call this an ipa. And a mighty good one for that matter! Lol, I only just now saw this is a collab with Cloudwater. It does explain the mighty good hops, being used, I guess. ;-)

Bottle from Systembolaget. Hazy golden with white head. Highly tropical aroma and taste with mango, citrus and passionfruit. Light with fresh citrus, floral notes and a bit of perfume. Light and crisp.
