Cask, handpump at The Penny Black, JDW, Sunday 2nd November 2013. Pours gold with slim filmy white head. Wonderful tropical nose, hops really shining here, its juicy, fruiyy, bittersweet, moreish. Tastes great as well, not sure if this was one of the festival beers if so it is my favourite. Just had another. A8 A5 T8 P4 Ov17 4.1

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Plae straw with a thin white head; fruity aroma - predominantly sweet grapefruit; sharp grapefruit taste at first, then developing some sweet fuzzy peach; then a crisp and clean finish. refreshing and much better than anticipated.

@ Bankers Draft (JDW), Bedford. Gold with no head. Not particularly lively. Aroma is a lovely hit of Nelson Sauvin: pineapple, elderflower, pine. Taste is complex: sweet to bitter to very bitter to a sweet finish - no wait - bitter again. Only the thin oily palette is a let down.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Montgomery’s Tower, Shrewsbury on 19th Oct 2013. Good deep golden hue to the body, on top a foaming white covering that hung around. The aroma reminded me of a tropical punch or cocktail: fruity and inviting. Nice blend of flavours, the hops give a bitter and dry feel to the taste, the malts a sweet undertone. Not a stand out brew, but pleasant enough and another Thwaites beer that is worth trying.
