Sample from 2011 vintage at the Barrel House. Pours a reddish-copper color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Cherries, yeast and oak in the nose. Medium-bodied with a moderately tart cherry character and notes of earthy yeast, vanilla and oak. The finish is fruity with a mildly sour cherry aftertaste. Good all around.

Pours bubbly, woody brown with almost no head. Aroma is vinegar,.....tart cherry. Extremely tart/sour cherry.....with a slight vinegar throat burn.. Pretty harsh....rough...No doubt about it being a sour.

Bottle 2009 courtesy of changeup45. Lactic, sour cherry, oak, and light funk aroma. Murky garnet amber with a small peach-beige head. Lactic, sour cherry, acetic, and spice oak flavor. Medium body, lively carbonation. Nice and sour, but with just a touch of sweetness which prevents it from being over the top mouth puckering.

First time having this beer after buying a few bottles and sitting on them. 2011 Vintage, enjoyed in a 3 Fonteinen wine glass at cellar temp (55F) Appearance is murky oak red with a 3 finger very creamy head that fades to a single finger. Decent lacing. Nose is spot on Rodenbach loaded with cherries and a hint of oak. Taste. Wow. this is pretty good. VERY sour and just a hint of cider vinegar with a crisp finish of ropey funk with ripened cherries. Pretty decadent but still, too much vinegar for my liking.

THE Fruit Sour tasting. Cheers Jack. Cloudy amber beer, little pale tan head. Dry crisp palate. Sour vinegar - cherry. White wine vinegar. Lemon acid. Dry finish. Too sharp for my tastes.

Bottle thanks to Jackl at THE fruit sour tasting. It pours hazy deep red/ruby with a thin white head. The nose is jam, red grape, sour cherry and berry yoghurt. The taste is tart cherry, cherry yoghurt, raspberry, harsh acidity, vinegar, cherry pip, strawberry and light creaminess with a tart finish. Medium body and prickly carbonation. Wow… pretty damn sour, but far too acidic for my liking. A bit of a disappointment from Cascade.

2009 Bottling Pours a brilliantly clear deep garnet/ruby color with a nice off white head that slowly recedes to a cap. I can smell cherries as soon as I wrangle the cork off the top pf the bottle. Upon closer inspection my nostrils are filled with fruity tart sweet and sour cherries, raspberries, and lemons. There’s a hint of funk and a bit of residual brown sugar but this one is all about the tart. Tart cherries and lemons rule the palette with every sip. The flavor is quite tart with bits of sugar and funk barely getting through to provide faint hints of balance. Medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a tart puckering mouthfeel. I enjoyed this one, but found it incredibly tart. I wonder how this beer is fresh.
