Bottle received in trade. Thank you pushkinwow! Pours murky reddish brown with a rather small reddish offwhite head that doesnβt leave much trace while dissipating. Smell is slightly sweet, sour and fruity with sweet dark bread, sour cherries, moist hay, lemon juice, leather, red wine vinegar and marzipan. Taste is sour and fruity with dark bread, sour cherries, red wine vinegar, moist hay, marzipan, lemon juice, dry soil and lemon zest. Sample at Kurtkeller 006: Cascade-tastic 01 on 02/21/2014. Pours a reddish-copper color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Cherries, yeast and oak in the nose. Medium-bodied with a moderately tart cherry character and notes of earthy yeast, vanilla and oak. The finish is fruity with a mildly sour cherry aftertaste. Good all around.

Bottled, large sample. Initially clear, later on hazy, dark reddish color, short frothy reddish head. Aroma of tart cherry, marzipan, oak wood, more towards belgian oude kriek than flemish sour. Quite sour taste, sweetness from fruit, very fruity, slight dry, slight sweet. Wonderfully complex beer, superb balance. Can compete with the great oude krieks from Belgium.

Rating #4100! 2011 Bottle Deep hazy brown coloured body with hints of ruby, red and brown when held up to a light, all with a thin, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of sour cherries, oak, lemons, yeast, alcohol, raspberries and more sour notes - very nice and mouthwatering! Medium-bodied; Great sour flavour at first with a lot of cherries coming through, some yeast, a little malt, good brett and a little pungent sweetness at the end - very smooth, but still with tons of flavour. Aftertaste shows mostly the sour cherries, but some lemons, malt, grapes and oak notes also come through - but all go down very easily and leave the mouth wanting the next sip! Overall, a great American created Flemish sour with some amazing cherry flavours and oak notes. Definitely worth trying to search out anything to find this one, especially if you like sours. This is perhaps the best American based sour that Iβve had since NB La Folie or NG Belgium Red - I plan on getting a bunch of these to cellar. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Pear Deli in Seattle, Washington on 11-February-2013 for US$15.30 sampled at home in Washington on 30-July-2013. 2011 Bottle//Purchased February 2013//Sampled July 2013

2010 bottling - 7.1% ABV Aroma is dominated by acid and cherries. The acid smells fairly clean though there may be a hint of acetic. The cherry aroma is still fairly prevalent, but is becoming a bit muddled. The Brett character is fairly light and tends more towards cherry pie than horse blanket thought there is a low phenolic note bordering on barnyard. Pours a cloudy burnt red with light brown highlights. A thin light tan head recedes fairly quickly to the edges. No lacing and faint legs. Flavor is very tart and the avidity hits you immediately. With the acidity you get a splash of cherry, but once again the age is preventing it from being as bright as it once was. Lots of cherry pie character with a hint of sweetness mid palate. Phenolic note is much fainter than in the aroma. Finish is tart with some cherry notes. Light, faint bitterness. Hints of Brett but always in the background. Light oak flavor mid palate. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low, but present acidic astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a nice sour cherry beer, but its not quite a kriek; it lacks the smack of barnyard funk to balance the acidity and fruit. The acidity is very strong and takes a minute to adjust to.

Bottle split by Aaron at Craft Clerko tasting, many thanks - 08/07/13. Hazed reddish amber with a thin beige covering that thins to spotting. Nose is burnt cherries, smoked cherry dipped straw, farmy, tarted berry fruits, sharp must. Taste comprises burnt straw, funk, tarte cherries, damp wood, soured berry compote, light sugars. Medium bodied with a little kick, fine carbonation, dry tarte berry fruit finish. Gooooood shit !
