Cask handpull at Tap East Stratford. Ruby black beer lasting beige head. Good chocolate not overly roasted which is refreshing. Good slam of hops on the finish. Rather good hoppy chocolate stout. Good.

Tap East. Cask. Almost opaque dark amber - brown beer. Tidy pale tan head. Palate is softish and smooth with light fine carbonation. Softish dark malt, but with a roasty edge and carrying a little dark malt cream. Mild.red berry fruits in the mid and a comparatively modest piney hop. Smooth semi dry finish brings a light bitterness. A bit dry but flavoursome.

Cask at the brewpub. Pours clear brown with a creamy, off-white head. The aroma has ripe, dark fruits, toasted brown bread, a bit of pine. Medium sweet flavor with nips of alcohol, gooey dark fruits, grape, faint cherry, earth, mild chocolate. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Some earthy bitterness on the finish with more toasted malts, subtle roast, dark fruits, some wet pine, cocoa. Not bad.
