Bottle. Copper coloured with a very small head. Mainly a bitterness with a mild grainy aroma and flavour. Not quite as smooth as some best bitter are, but close.

500ml bottle - ruby red body, thin white head, heavy hoppy nose. A massive kick of hops, then a mouthful of sourness. Long aftertaste with a medium body, not bad.

Pigs Ear. As ’Olicana Best’. Hazy brown beer. Light dry palate. Good malt base with a little unsweet toffee. The hops are aggressive for an English bitter. Grassy grapefruit. Finishes semi dry. Not bad - got some welly!

Cask at The Cleveland Arms, London. It’s a quiet afternoon here. A few groups of people, some pensioners, the two locals who I have never NOT seen here, and me, fresh from the gym. My beer pours a dark, clear gold with q frothy, off-white head. The aroma holds leaves and wholegrain toast. Flavor is medium sweet with toast, spicy rye, dry and ripe orange, faint cocoa almost, a bit of burnt grass, leaves. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light drying on the finish, some leafy bitterness, grains, light earth, faint honey and toasted sugar. It’s an OK beer.

Bottled. Amber colour with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some wooden notes, mild toasted caramel as well as some toffee and nutty notes. Flavour is quite similar, but quite thin in palate and mild in flavours.
