(Bottle) Amber colour with brief, frothy, white head. Malty, spicy nose with notes of orange, apricots, ginger, cardamom and hints of herbs (sage?). Malty, spicy taste with orange, apricots, candy sugar, ginger, cardamom, mint, herbs, apple juice and a fairly low bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Perfumy and quite weird. Decent, but strange.

10th November 2014
Craft near Tottenham Court Road. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Light pale malts. Light floral sweetness. Whisper of esters. Mild and well integrated citrus. Light dry finish. It’s a good beer but nowhere near hoppy enough to be calling itself an IPA.

Cask. Friends of Ham, Leeds. Hazy gold. Tight, white head. Yep, fresh green hop. Some sumac kind of spice. Some astringency. Taste is surprisingly biscuity sweet. More of that astringency aids balance. Fresh, oily palate. Dry, astringent finish.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Clear amber, no head. Weird aroma of ginger and menthe. Mid sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel, almost flat. Fruity with lots of strange spices, ginger, cardamom and peppermint. Low bitterness. Shallow malt character. Just weird.

Pours golden color, a bit dull, initially, then it brightens up, with poor head. Aroma of biscuity malts, mild, but also a strange herbal note , basil sage and some coriander spice. The mouthfeel is dryish, it has some malt flavor, light caramel, but disturbed by a similar herbal flavor, add a perception of aniseed too; ordinary bitterness.
Just messy.
