Bottle from Abv. Pours a jet black color with a small beige head. A big smoky roast nose, dark fruit. A big sweet ashy flavor, licorice, smoke, burnt caramel. Solid big Scandinavian stout made in the USA. Sugary toffee.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 3/24/2016. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense dark brown head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, fudge, toffee, caramel, molasses, toasted dark bread, raisin, plum, fig, date, licorice, smoke, wood, leather, tobacco, light char, and roast/smokey earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, fruity yeast, and moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, fudge, toffee, caramel, molasses, toasted dark bread, raisin, plum, fig, date, licorice, smoke, wood, leather, tobacco, light char, and roast/smokey earthiness. Moderate roast/char and herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, fudge, toffee, caramel, molasses, toasted dark bread, dark fruit, licorice, smoke, wood, leather, char, and roast/smokey earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, fruity yeast, and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and no astringent hop/roast flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast/hop bitterness, increasing though the glass. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/slick, and moderately sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is fairly well hidden with a light warmth lingering after the finish; with no booziness. Overall this is an outstanding imperial stout. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, fruity yeast, and moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Draught @ Milk and Hops. Inky black with small, tan creamy head, faint caramel aroma, medium carbonation, sweetish sour cherry mocha taste, alcohol undertones, thick and smooth body, medium mocha finish with alcohol aftertaste. Very satisfying and robust.
