22 oz. bottle, sent from BrewtopiaofPJ (thanks Mark), pours pitch black with a small tan / light brown head. Aroma is very roasty, with notes of coffee, chalk, and roasted malt. Flavour brings out roasted malt upfront, with notes of coffee and bitter cocoa. Characterized by the burnt, bitter roasted malt - finishes on those notes. Full-bodied, fairly viscous and quite bitter, with no hint of the 12% ABV. Great stuff.

75cl bottle from onkelgobber - thank you, sir! Pours opaque black with a nice crema head. The nose has liquorice with huge amounts of chocolate on the back of it. The taste has liquorice again and seriously bitter chocolate. The palate is rich in structure with a big gnarly texture and it finishes fairly elegant beer. Overall, great beer, but maybe better in 6 momths.

Bottle at Bruce’s Pad. Opaque dark brown beer with a big fluffy tan head. Airy palate, smooth with fine carbonation. Dark malt. Light smoke. Little aniseed alcohol. Coffee and cream. Light tang. Comes together well - sum greater than the parts.

Draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap. Color is pitch black with real thin tan head. Nose is a bit subdued with light chocolate and mild smoke. Taste is where this shines. Chocolate up front with a nice light smoke. Licorice and a hint of dark fruit. It must have light peated malt with this smoke. Finish is bitter chocolate with some alcohol coming through. You don’t taste the full 12% really light burn. This is a sipper for sure with a thick, full body and alcohol burn after the sip. Oily texture. Really nice after dinner imperial stout. Would recommend to any heavy stout fan. I enjoyed much.
