Phantasmagoria is an IPA that is low in malt flavors, but high in hops. We brew this beer as a nod to the big hoppy beers of the west coast. We use loads of citrusy and piney hops at the end of the boil and in the fermenter to make this beer a hop experience.

(355ml can from kihoskh.dk) Date is unclear. Pours a nearly clear orange gold with a small well-lasting white head. Aroma of biscuit malt with a touch of caramel-ish sweetness, grapefruit, pine needles, resin. Flavour is lightly sweet and very clean honey-ish pale malt, not much bready/grainy character, accompanied by some citrusy fruitiness and peel, pit fruit, and grassy, relatively light bitterness. Drydown from the alcohol. Medium bodied, oily, very low carbonation. West coast though not totally old school, but a bit benign, lacking a hefty hop punch. Maybe not that fresh, just did not quite do it for me.

Tap at TAP at Prairie Artisan launch. Hazy golden orange pour, more vibrant than the Funky Gold Mosaic, but similar. Aroma is tropical fruit and piney dankness. Good. Taste is deeply pine, dank and bitter with some honey caramel malt to balance. Very big without being overwhelming (could be bigger!). A little bit one-note but well done. Palate is slightly rich and tingly. Smooth. Good not great.
