Portwine Barrel-aged Imperial Stout

This barrel-aged imperial stout is in honour of the night two of our standout dark beers first met. After 13 months maturing in Port Wine barrels, Original Sin and Konrad's stout were united to create a symphony of dark chocolate, velvety cacao, ripe cherries, and whispers of oak, all wrapped in a beautifully smooth body.

Bottle, huge thanks Sandi for sharing it with us! Black body, traces of a pale greyish head. Sweetish aroma, vanilla, cocoa, chocolate and an odd dried dog food malty touch in the background, still, nothing too bad. Smooth taste, vanilla, milk caramel and raisins, medium body, quite a bit warming. Nice, but a bit tired of all these big vanilla beers. Still, this is a well made one!

375ml bottle @ Belgian Beer Geeks Autumn Gathering 2025. Penultimate beer of the evening. Pours very dark with a menacing dark brown head. Big layered dark malt, full body with a chocolatey undercurrent, woody suggestions, with a gentle port barrel influence.. serious stuff.

500ml bottle shared in Kuala Lumpur. Poured almost black in colour with a thin round tan head. The aroma is roasty, buttery caramel. The flavour is strong sweet, with a silky smooth, rich, oily, roasty, red berry fruit, vanilla, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with average to soft carbonation.

On tap at MBCC 2025 (Green session), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has plenty port wine, roasted malt, and a bit of coffee. Flavour is full of dark sugars, some roast, light coffee, and some port wine to balance. Reasonably balanced albeit a touch harsh.
