Bottle split at L6, thanks to Leighton for the low state count rake, 28/11/18. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent khaki covering. Nose is chocolate, toffee, molasses, brown sugars. Taste comprises dried fruits, cocoa sprinkle, light roast, chocolate biscuit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Passable porter.

Level 6 Bottleshare. Thanks to Leighton. Almost opaque dark brown beer, big pale tan head. Airy palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, a little dark malt cream, some oxidised caramel. Little tangy fruits. Smooth finish.

Bottle shared in London - picked up in a trade. Pours deep brown with a lively, creamy beige head. Pretty enjoyable, lots of toasted brown bread, a bit of brown sugar, raisins. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes with toasted sugars, more brown bread, sweet chocolate. Not bad.

Bottle from weizenweihen, shared. Pours black, with a big, fluffy, beige head. Licorice, milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and syrup. Sweet and very malty, with a light roast bitterness. Medium to heavy body, grainy texture, and malty. This is an interesting and wonderfully malty beer.

Sampled from a 16 oz can this beer poured a black color with a huge foamy darkish brown head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was fruity hops, cherry, toasty malts and a strong black licorice presence. The flavor was toasty malts, chocolate, dark fruits, malted milk and lots of black licorice. Long finish. Medium body. Solid.

Aluminum bottle with a cap that reads, Oct 24, 2014! Received in a trade with weihenweizen. Thin lasting tan head on top a black liquid. Aroma is star anise underneath chocolate and spent coffee grinds.
The body is what I enjoy most about this Porter, medium plus and much like a stout. Oily type texture. Smooth creamy carbonation level. Flavor of spent espresso beans, anise, through the center shows dark fruits or a red grape character. Really enjoyable!
