Bottle. Amber body with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/sticky texture, lively carbonation. The sweet start carries through the finish. In fact, the sweetness could use some taming. Taste of citrus, grapefruit, pine, caramel.

Bottle thanks to ChrisO. It pours clear amber with a thick yellow-white head. The nose is pine, varnish, spiced, lemon meringue pie, citrus peel and earth. The taste is bitter, pine needles, soapy, lemon peel, mild caramel, light spice and resin with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent.

Draft at the brewery taproom during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clear russet with a creamy head. Some bready malts in here with light pine, grains, orangey citrus. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly toasted bread to finish, moderate sweetness, some pine and ripe citrus. OK. Tasty but simple.

Growler from Blind Murphy’s. Nice copper color, with a small, off-white head. The aroma is mild rye, resin, herbs, and pine tar. Malty-sweet flavor, with a relatively mild bitterness through the finish. A metalic twang in the aftertaste. Light to medium body, a little acidic, crisp, and clean. Overall, this is a mild and drinkable rye IPA, but nothing special.
