Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light, airy and semi dry. Sweetish dark malts, a little spice. Tangy orange peel. Finishes dry with a whisper of chocolate. Not bad.

Bottle shared at the Craft Beer Co. - Clerkenwell, London Holiday Tasting - thanks to me. Pours rich brown with a fine, tan cream head. Dry roasted malt aroma, good light dry cocoa. Light sweet flavor with vague roast, faint cocoa, background spice and gingerbread. Light to medium bodied with average to high carbonation. Mild sweetness to finish with light roast and mellow cocoa, along with fine spice. Decent.

Bottle from Real.com. It pours very dark brown with a massive beige head. The nose is roasted malt, spice, plastic, burnt tire, coffee, leather and molasses. The taste is rather bitter, roasted malt, ash, coffee grinds, spice, liquorice, molasses, light bubblegum and wood with a dry, lightly spiced finish. Medium body and lively carbonation. Pretty solid spiced porter.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a murky dark mahogany with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is dry and malty, leading to a rich bitter flavour with liquorice and dark chocolate. This is not a traditional Christmas beer. It’s more like an imperial stout, but very tasty and drinkable all the same.

Bottle at pre Xmas tasting thanks to Leighton - 21/12/12. Murky dark amber with a thin off white head that clears to the edge and forms a film. Nose is dark fruit, malts, booze, molasses. Taste follows, fruity, malty, sugars. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, fruity dry finish. Disappointing, Arbor normally deliver more!

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 7/12/09. Dark brown with reddish hints and a slight tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, a touch of caramel, cinnamon and a whiff of gloves. Sweetish flavour, with christmas pudding flavours of dried fruits, peel and nuts and a warming alcohol finish. Enjoyable.
