bottle from the cheese man! thanks!
Holy hell did this pour THICK!!! Cloudy brown and THICK, with next to no head. Aroma is very complex! THe 1st thing is bourbon, and some hard liquor alcohol. The oak and vanilla really come though, and there is some really nice sweet bornw sugar, and molasses. Flavour is ALL oak, and wood, it’s the 1st thing to hit you. Then comes the vanilla nuances, and some really nice sweet molasses. No hops to speak of, the finish is not bitter at all, it’s actually very sweet with a nice woody note, with a slow warm alcohol burn. Wow, one of the most complex beers i have ever had. So much fin to dissect, excellent stuff!

(Bottle) Reddish brown colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, vinous nose with notes of caramel, treacle-toffee, oak wood, bourbon, vanilla, sultana raisins and dried figs. Malty, vinous taste with toffee, vanilla, bourbon, oak wood, caramel, raisins, prunes and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Full body, sweet. Strong and sweet, but really tasty and harmonious, with a good bourbon touch. Very nice.

Murky red brown with a small foamy head that left no lacing. Boozy, woody and malty with caramel and faint fruit. Very long finish. Full bodied.

Caramel and bourbon barrel notes. Cloudy dark brown with a small white head. Nice bourbon notes and lots of toffee and a caramel. A touch of heat but nice.

Ok dessertöl, men låg wow-faktor.

Can split at Bodney, thanks to Leighton, 12/04/18 2013 vintage . Rich chestnut to mahogany brown with a well presented beige cap. Nose is big on fruit cake, bourbon, booze tunes, candied fruit rinds, caramel. Taste comprises earthy fruits, bourbon soaked oak, dates, Xmas cake, toffee crisp. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a gentle rising boost. Solid BA affair ... drinks great at 5 years old.

2013 vintage - massive thanks to Leighton. Consumed at his chateau. It pours clear deep mahogany brown with a bubbly beige head. The aroma is soft ,sweet, juicy, rather mellow, massive bourbon character, fruit cake, jammy fruits, vanilla, toffee and butterscotch pudding. The taste is dry, bitter, earthy, juicy, tangy, wood, leather, plenty of dried fruits, earth, spice, caramel, toffee, jam, vanilla and wood with some warmth through the finish. Full body, fine carbonation and chewy mouth - feel. Hearty and punchy sipping juice. Good fun.

Bottle shared in Hackney - picked up in the US. Vintage 2013. Pours clear amber-red with a creamy, light tan head. Bready malts in the nose, toffee, ripe berries, vanilla. Big sweet flavour, lots of fruitcake, toffee, toast, vanilla. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, somewhat sticky, further toffee, ripe berries, figs and dates, alcohol, vanilla. Outstanding. Classic stuff.
