A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, this beer is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again.

Our Imperial Saison captured a bold celebratory shout of apricot and peach in a bottle. Both bright and bold this is a lively truly living beer. Bottle conditioned with rare Belgian yeast and soured to illuminate its copper hued body. Ginger and Grains of Paradise promiscuously dance with Styrian Golding hops. Wipe winter from your brow and enjoy now or attempt to resist its siren song and lay down in your cellar.

Ziemlich hefig-bananiger Abgang. 10/8/7/8/11/8

Bottle from Matt (madvike). Murky orange-brown, pinkish body, medium dense off-white head. Estery nose with clove, bubblegum, and bread dough, also sugary. Complex, estery body, dusty, with bread dough, lemon, peach, and tangy wheat, tart, with an herbal finish. The different elements come together seamlessly. Yum.

12oz bottle pours a hazy, translucent deep orange amber with a very thick, frothy white head. Nose had a lot of bubblegum, nail plolish remover, perfume, some wheat, some light citrus, a little medicinal. Flavor is sweet, candy, a touch sour like a big berliner weiss, bubblegum, grass, vegetal, flower petals, rose water, honey. Full bodied, sweet, lightly puckering finish. Heavy carbonation detracts a bit. Kind of weird.

Bottle: Pours a dark golden color with a honey hue and modest haze. Large, bubbly off-white head. Strong aroma is grainy, yeast, cloves, grass, and floral hops. A little musty. Lots of prickly carbonation and really stings the tongue. Sweet, fruity flavors of apple and grapes. Yeast and lemon zest. Crisp and finishes with a lingering fruity and grassey burst, some indication of the higher abv.

With the first few sips, I didn’t like this beer at all - it is not a true saison at all, and I think it took me a while to get past that - however, as it warmed, I really started to enjoy it as a sour belgian ale - very lemony, tangy, semi-sweet, and lightly estery - the sourness overtakes the sweetness as it warms, though - becomes acidic, with notes of lemon, peach, apricot - a drier, spicy, herbal, peppery character - mild acetic quality - lightest touch of earthy funk way in the back - interesting - it grows on you.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of madvike. Thanks! Pours a hazy orange color with a medium sized white creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, bread, pineapple, yeast, cardamom, coriander and a bit of butter. Taste is tart apricot, peach, pineapple, bread, ginger, berries. A nice level of tartness. Smooth, medium bodied. Good beer.

Poured from bottle. Aroma is of yeast and peaches, pours a hazy gold with a large head that quickly dissipates. Taste is very sour, rather fruity (apricot & peach, as described by the brewer). After a couple sips it’s more difficult to enjoy, the sourness is overpowering. After a half hour and half the glass gone, this is pretty much undrinkable. This may be the worst beer I’ve ever had.
