A few times a year, we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, this beer is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again.
Our Imperial Saison captured a bold celebratory shout of apricot and peach in a bottle. Both bright and bold this is a lively truly living beer. Bottle conditioned with rare Belgian yeast and soured to illuminate its copper hued body. Ginger and Grains of Paradise promiscuously dance with Styrian Golding hops. Wipe winter from your brow and enjoy now or attempt to resist its siren song and lay down in your cellar.

Bottle: Poured a hazy orangey color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of spicy peppery yeast with some fruity ester and a lightly tart and quite dry malt base - not sure I am totally enjoying this strange mix. Taste is also a strange mix between light dry and tart notes with some funky fruity ester and a light lingering peppery yeast notes – not the most balanced mix. Body is above average with good carbonation. I can’t say I really enjoyed this one with way too many thing happening at the same time but not really balanced between each other.

Bottle. Hazy, deep gold body. Large, fizzy, off-white head, slowly diminishing. The aroma is a mix of sweet malts and vinegar along with toasted grain, grass, lemon, tart apple. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and moderately acidic. Medium body, syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. Sour flavor is dominant, though there is a bit a sweetness beneath it. Hard to find many other flavors because of the tartness. Saison? Not really.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a huge orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt and fruits. The flavor is sweet and acidic with notes of fruits and malt, as well as some notes of yeast, and citrus, leading to dry acidic finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours a hazy deep golden with an off-white head. Perfumy, spicy nose. Medium body, very lively carbonation, tart, citrusy, fruity and very spicy. Finish is tart, but the massive carbonation is a drag. An odd bird indeed. 091109

Bottle thanks to thirdeye11. Pours with a large, white head over a hazed golden body. Aroma of banana, alcohol, candi sugar, grass, spice and brandy. Taste is alcohol, lemon and straw. Medium carbonation and a dry mouthfeel.

12 oz bottle from iowaherkeye! Nose of peaches, bubblegum, and a hint of vanilla: pur sweetness. Lightly hazy orange-amber with a big, glass lacing, light beige head. Flavor is peppery with some fruit and light spiciness; a slight funkiness shows after a few seconds. Finish is fruity and lightly sweet. Not hardly sour, light and fruity, but enjoyable.

12oz bottle...also was lucky enough to have this on draft at OF. Murky orange-brown color with a big, patchy head. Fruity, sugary aroma. Lots of citrus subtleties, with some soft Belgian effervescence. Somewhat lemony, with Belgian yeasts flavors as well. Alcohol is present, but never dominates, incorporating itself well into overall picture. Excellent beer.

12 fl oz bottle graciously given to me by beastiefan2k. Pour is a slight hazed golden copper with a two inch noisy dirty white head. Head falls with crackling and no lace. Aroma of fresh apricot fruit, dried fruit, vanilla and cinnamon sweetness. Some coriander, grass and wheat behind that. Decent blast of clove present. Aggressively spiced nose, a bit odd. Taste is big ginger clove spice and apricot fruit sweetness. The cinnamon grassiness is present, though more subdued than the nose. Really very sweet and fruity. Some alcohol heat in the chest after swallowing. Also a citrus fruit sour tartness jumps out of nowhere in the finish. Palate is medium high carbonation, medium thickness and a long sweet finish. Interesting concept for a beer, and decently executed - this one just really didn’t do it for me personally. Thanks for giving me this one Eugene.
