Draught at Deep Ellum upon debut.
Pours a clear blonde-straw with deeper brass hues. Small, but firm white head atop showing good retention.
Malty and with tons of white bread, dough and honey yet quickly adding herbal and lightly citrusy hops to the mix. The hops die down a bit more than expected, with a return to more malt-forward notes on the finish. Sometimes there was a bit of diacetyl, but who knows if that was the line or not. No alcohol or flaw, otherwise.
In the mouth, it's soft, malty, pretty well-attenuated with honey, cereal and white bread malt notes balancing mildly citrusy hops (grapefruit, lemon, orange rind). Low bitterness, but ample, with mostly engaging carbonation. Quite full and substantial for its size; definitely no thinning or wateriness here. Solid beer all-around and a good start to what was to come from these guys.

A huge billowy head of foam sitting on a medium golden brew, there’s lots of nice lacing.
I get a flowery type of hop aroma backed up by some grain and a bit of sweet malt.
The taste is gracefully balanced with notes of caramel and grainy malt and a flowery hop flavour. A light presence of earth shows up after a few sips in. Dang, this is good.
On the light side of medium bodied with a bit too much carbonation for my liking else the mouthfeel
would be great.
This is one heck of a good session ale at 4.5% abv! Highly recommended.

GBBF. Light haze on this gold beer, residual off white head. Light palate,a little dry. Mild fine carbonation. Juicy marmalade hops. A little minerals. Mild fresh hop sting along with a little hop skunk. Nice seltzer - citrus. Finishes dry. All flavours well balanced and a really nice pale ale.

A copper amber ale with a thick mocha head. In aroma, a surprisingly funked hops, floral and resinous, caramel and treacle, very nice. In mouth, a nice and smooth floral hops, nice and balanced. On tap at Meadhall, Oct. 10 2011.

Pours deep clear amber into a Sam glass. Off-white head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing to hug rim. Caramel and and toast aromas. Dry with resin front to back.
