Just in time for the holidays is our special treat to you, a dark, chewy bock beer. Around November you’ll find ‘chocolate bock’ on tap at the brewery. No other beer has a more pure and intense malt character as a true Bock. Many large breweries in the U.S. have diluted the original strength of this beer, but we make the real thing. The body of this beer is rich, making it a good beer to warm up to during those “special” Midwest winters. The blackened malt that we use in it gives the brew a slight hint of chocolate. It’s a smooth brew, having been lagered for over a month in our cellars.

12 oz bottle from Pepsican. Nose is a hint of banana, toffee, chocolate, and very slight bubblegum. Clear rusty brown with a small beige head. Flavor is toffee, ripe banana, and light sugary caramel sweetness. Hidden in the finish is a slight bitterness. Actually an very good beer I would drink every day if needed..

Bottle shared by Sean, an Iowa tick and I didn’t even know it! Thanks! Poured a clear brown with a near white head that dissipated completely. Aroma was full of sweet grains and sweet chocolates. Flavor began with sweet grains and a mainly sweet chocolate grew through the finish.

12oz shorty bottle. Deep, opaque chestnut brown. Minimal, put lasting head. Sweet aroma, some dry hops pervading through. This is quite a well done Bock beer in my opinion, balanced, smooth and drinkable. Sweet brown sugar and chocolate. One of the better stateside examples I’ve had.

A simple, session bock. Aroma has light caramel and malt. Flavor tastes bocky enough, some light malt, a little sweet. For all their talk in the explanation, this beer is surprisingly light.

Pour is a very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt with some coffee chocolate. Flavor is about the same. Some chocolote and coffe with a nice silky mouthfeel. Not bad from this brewer.

Bottled, thanks heemer77. Dark brown colour, small brown head. Chocolate in aroma and malts in aroma. Roasted chocolate in flavour, the finnish becomes a bit chocolateish. A bit thin, but hell, this is good.

Ruby-amber color, small coffee head. Grassy hoppy and milk chocolate in the aroma. Coffee beans, chocolate chips and grassy hops in the flavor. Not very bock-like, quite light malt-wise, but very drinkable, not too sweet at least.

Slightly hazy brownish-amber colour. Slight woody note, with cocoa and straightforward maltiness. It’s a bit thin and metallic, but otherwise ok flavours balancing light dark malt notes with cocoa.
