The people of Tampa Bay have fallen prey to a pirate invasion annually for well over 100 years. After more than a century of failing to repel these seafaring raiders in their anachronistic wooden ships and despite access to modern sea, land and air arsenals that ostensibly should make short work of wind powered vessels equipped with naught but cast iron cannons and raging scurvy, it occurred to the folks of Cigar City Brewing that if you can’t beat them, start saying “Arrrr Matey!” We have brewed Invasion Pale Ale, a citrusy, tropical and low-alcohol session beer brewed for those long days of marauding, pillaging and pirating. Cheers!

On tap at Craft Room Zagreb. Dark golden coloured, medium sized white to off-white head, mild fruity nose. Sweetish malty, fruity herbal hoppy, light spicy and mild bitter finish with touch of caramel. Not so fresh but drinkable and ok.

Tap at CR. Hazy orange, misty, thick white head. Slightly yoghurty-peachy aroma. Not bad. Mild peachy-herbal taste, quite nice, if light, smooth actually and moreish. Better than the first impression would indicate. Well crafted.

12 oz. can from Binny's I don't often get to compare two whole bottles/cans of the same beer style from the same brewery. This one pours out much lighter than the Jai Alai, looking more like a pale lager. The head is like a basic lawnmower beer, too. Just a bit fizzy and dwindling away much faster. The smell has a bit more of your basic American Pale Ale hop, more citrus than tropical, and a bit more bitterness in the nose. The taste shows more bitterness, with noticeable pine resin from a familiar hop load. Malt is not as big as the Jai Alai, but its leaves a bit of stickiness on the lips. Hoppiness is a little high to be called "sessionable," but that's just me.

Draught @ Albion. Lightly cloudy rich yellow-golden with creamy off-white head, very faint hay aroma, low carbonation, mildly bitter taste with hay flavor, smooth body, abrupt finish. Bit watery but smooth, not significantly hoppy.

Keg at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. Hazy golden, rich creamy head. Mild aroma of elderflowers and citrus. Mid dry with light body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Tired elderflower hops, a touch of citrus. Water cuts through before a resinous bitter finish.
