Bottle from ’Jacks’ Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon Tuesday 19th February 2013 consumed at home Tuesday 26th Feb 2013 Pours light amber with a veiled cloud of haze sitting within, head is white and slim. This tastes marvellous, softened by the oak it has a light vanilla edge, the citrussyness of the nose is also blunted a little by this as well. Taste is great, wonderfully citrussy but the oak ageing is marvellous, still it makes me do the ’snake flicky out tongue thing’ with a late double clack, very lemony, very good. In fact I have to say better than the very decent Buxton Wyoming. Dry towards the end, lovely lovely beer. A8 A4 T9 P4 Ov17 4.2

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a slightly hazy amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is typical of a DIPA with a rich, uber hoppy nasal experience! The flavour is something of an extension of the aroma, with the American hops dominating the rich oaky flavour and with that lovely gorgeous dry spicy pepperness on the palate. There’s no fruit. It was murdered by the hops! This really is a super DIPA. Shame it’s only a special.

Bottle at home, thanks to an IP with Essex Jim, 01/01/13. Pours hazy golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates to the edge and leaves a film atop the glass. Nose carries tropical fruit notes, pine, hops, light sour wood tones, orange peel. Taste comprises pine, juicy hops, wood tones, bitter grapfruit, orange pith, touch of minerals. Medium bodied with fine carbonation leading to some sweetness in the bitter finish. Great stuff.

Keg at Cask Pub & Kitchen. It pours clear golden yellow with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is pine, resin, orange citrus, tangy marmalade, leaf and spice. The taste is pine, assertive bitterness, varnish, resin, booze, tangerine, orange, marmalade, creaminess and spice with a long warming, bitter finish. A big, boozy bitter beast. A tasty brew indeed.

Bottle from Utobeer, Borough Market, London. A hazy amber/golden coloured pour with a medium white creamy head on top. Sweet, hoppy, tropical fruit aroma. Tastes hoppy, tropical fruit, grapefruit, slight bitterness and some sweetness too. Very drinkable. I rather like Tiny Rebel.

16th November 2012
Craft Islington - opening night. Hazy amber beer, little pale cream coloured head. Palate is softish with fine carbonation. Marmalade hops. Mild minerals. A little aniseed alcohol, nothing serious. Dry hop citrus. Not really getting much oak here - a trace of vanilla. Finish is semi dry with a mild bitter linger. Nice beer but I would have liked a bit more barrel.
