Sessionable and light-hearted, leaving a subtle satisfying bitterness in its wake. Fragrant hoppy flavours redefine refreshment for this classic table beer.

Cask ale, half pint on a sample tray. Clear amber body, patchy surface, dotted spots on the glass. Quite inviting smell of leafy hops and pale malts. Pleasing taste character of leafy hops, ripe fruits and bread-like malts. Fair bitter finish. Well made for the low abv. (Lewes, 27.08.2026).

Cask at The Royal Oak. It pours amber with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, fragrant, floral, dried fruits, brown bread, toffee, caramel and fruit cake. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, toasty grains, earthy, woody, leather, some pucker, light tannin, leather and some chewiness with a drying finish. Light+ body and moderate carbonation. Really well done.

Tweede Harvey's cask in de Calthorpe Arms. Vrijwel heldere licht koperen kleur met een kleine kraag. Aroma's: fruitig, ietsje bitter en ook hier weer iets gistig en/of kurkachtig. Smaakt lichtjes bitter. Lichte body. Afdronk is bitterig, inderdaad wat aards.

Cask at the John Harvey Tavern, Lewes. Poured a mostly clear medium amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The at aroma is yeasty, malty. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, fresh, earthy, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
