Craft Clerkenwell. Clear dark amber - brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is smooth, pretty dry and with low carbonation. Malts are dry and sweetish with a whisper of fruits. There is a more dominant coffee streak. Semi dry finish. It’s all right but lacks that Titanic sparkle.

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Pours clear brown with a foamy, beige cream head. Burnt toast aroma with notes of gritty cocoa. Light to medium sweet flavor with heavy, earthy bitterness, charred wood, baking cocoa and dirt. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Scorched earth finish with more dirt, charcoal and bitter cocoa. Too bitter - it’s out of balance. Lasting impressions of burnt grass.

Cask at CP&K. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, charcoal, chocolate, biscuit and oat. The taste is roasted malt, charcoal, biscuit, oatcake, light spice, toast, nut and salt with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Quite intense flavour. Does what it say on the label. Interesting, but it would be a challenge to drink more than a half of it.
