The Flood is our nod to the brown porters of London and an homage to the folks that perished in the great porter flood of 1814. Our version was brewed with English Maris Otter malt, flaked barley and rye, a selection of caramel and chocolate malts and a touch of beechwood smoked malt. Hopped with East Kent Goldings and Magnum in the kettle, this beer was then allowed to ferment and naturally carbonate with our favorite English ale yeast.

16oz can pours a murky brown, fluffy just off white head. Nose is very nice, very earthy, brown bread, yeast, some over steeped tea, lightly nutty. Flavors all follow. There's a nice chewy character, dry. Medium bodied even for a lower ABV. Well made and very easy to drink but not simple either.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Translucent cola brown color. Rocky tan head is large. Roasted malt aroma hints at chocolate and light smoke. Flavor is smooth and roasty. Hints of chocolate and toasted walnuts. Some sweetness in middle. Decent body and flavor. Brings back memories of sipping in a local London pub from my trip there last summer.

Dark brown. Medium head. Light, juicy cask body. Toasty, roasty, and quite complex. Easy-drinking, this went down well.

Undated can drunk 1/23/25.
Large, tan-hued, beige head slowly recedes to a large covering. Clear, dark mahogany.
Chocolatey, with light but ample roast. Fruity yeast and plentiful mineral with some ash and light char. Bit of fresh herbs from the hops and more playful fruitiness on the finish.
Soft, incredibly supple, lightly oily but with big texture and a big body relative to its small size. Just enough sweetness/comforting malt sugar to balance the tasteful roast/toast/smoke. Lingering hints of burnning wood, dark chocolate and fruity, mineral-laced, English yeast. Another knockout from these guys, and I'm starting to buy everything I see from them.

Loads of chcocolate, some coffee, roasted malt. Taste is along the same lines. The body is a bit on the thin side, but it's obvious for th style and ABV. Good one. This is like a craft version of Guinness, hehe.

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, fizzy beige head, settles to thin ring. Mild roasty aroma, nutty. Taste is roasty with some mild sweetness, then a nice lingering bitterness. Creamy feel, full of flavor, but light on the ABV.

Can from Tavour. Pours dark brown with a huge foamy tan head. Aroma seems a bit smoky with dark chocolate. Med body. Flavor seems a bit smoky with dark chocolate and some dark malt in support. Rather good flavor. Dry and decently bitter.

16 oz can picked up at Special Brews. Really nice, flavorful porter, with a nice chocolate malt base. Toasty, cocoa nose. Flavor dares to be on the sweet side, but remains bold, with a forever lingering chocolate note. Tons of flavor in this lighter ABV than most brew. Unique tasting, and very enjoyable.
