An IPA in disguise, this beer surprises with its unique fusion of a porter and an IPA. The chocolate and roasted malts provide a rich backbone, while fruity hop flavors emerge afterward. A classic IPA-like bitterness rounds out the experience, lingering at the end of each sip.

7 March 2025. At Beer in a Box Adventskalender 2024 Tasting. Cheers to the whole crew!
Coffee grounds, toast, charcoal, raisin. Sweetish raisin & brambleberry, bitter toast & coffee. Earthy hops, tobacco. Short finish, somewhat watery texture. This had more potential, but somehow didn’t come to fruition.

33cl can via Beer52, drank in Devon on 4th May 2025. Mahogany body, off-white head. Malty front with a decent hop profile, some orchard fruits and woody hints, enjoyed it with Emmental Cheese.

7/III/25 - 33cl can from Beerinabox (webshop, NL), shared @ Gentse Biervereniging adventskalender-tasting, BB: 17/IV/26, P02722 (2025-249)
Clear dark red brown beer, small irregular off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: a bit malty, grains, slightly fruity, hoppy, soft roast, some caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: hoppy start, dry, bitter touch, soft roast, a bit malty, grains, very dry, grassy. Aftertaste: bitter, somewhat grassy, hoppy, dry finish with some malty undertones. More a red ale, than a black IPA.

33cl can from Beer52.A glossy black pour with a fast fading cream head; roasted malt aroma with a little pine in the background; smooth in the mouth with an immediate fresh bitterness, then some well roasted grains adding a touch of coffee to the finish.

Can from Beer in a Box. A fairly modest BIPA that shows promise but doesn't impress either in aroma or flavour.

330ml can. Pours a brown with some mahogany hue and consistent beige top. Aroma of dark malt, brown sugar, mild citrus, sweet tropical, dusty hops. Taste is quite chocolate malt noted with some citrus, grapefruit and bold grassy note. Medium to full bodied, fine carbonation.
