The Grande Noirceur is an intensely black and dense beer with pronounced roasted flavours. The bitterness is very imposing but is balanced by a malty-caramel taste. The alcohol content is quite high, but its presence remains discrete in this beer.

Flaska från Systembolaget:
Svart med stort, tjockt skum. Rostad doft med inslag av kex, kaffe och saltlakrits. Känns mjuk och len i munnen. Smakar rostad malt och lakrits. Värmande, lite kärv avslutning.
God!

Bottle, 355 ml, shared with JFK10000 and Max. Dark brown, medium light brown head. Alcohol in aroma, less in taste. Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, sweet, nice bitter finish. Nice oily. Medium+ bodied. Would be way better without so alcohol present in aroma.

Bottle at home, from La Cave a Bulles,18th February 18. Pours black as night, no head really. Aroma is heavy roasted malt, soy, dark chocolate. Taste is bitter chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, bitter, dry, lingering roast, leather. Fantastic, classically made imperial stout.

Almost black colour with dark brown highlights. Mocha-coloured head, good retention and some creamy thick lacing at the base. Roasted malt aromas with a soft mix of well-blended coffee, chocolate and molasses. Hints of nuts. Roasted malt taste with some good bitterness and dryness in the finish. Nicely warming. If you like your stouts without coffee, chocolate added and just tasting the roasted malts, this is for you.

Having one of those days and so needed a beer. I got a 4 pack of these but just brought one to Japan. I think I have some away to family and have the other(s?) waiting at my folks. Dieu du Ciel Grande Noirceur Imperial Stout 9% Great looking inky black with a thick rusty tan head that leaves copious lacing behind. A fruity cacao and licorice aroma with perhaps hints of toasted oats. Full bodied but the carbonation is scratchy rather than smooth. The taste is bitter dark chocolate, toasted marshmallows coated in toasted oats that were then dipped in dark chocolate. My quibble would be to witch for a smoother body so I’m guessing on nitro this would be amazing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

bottle - Black pour with almost no head. It has a rich, malty, roasty, chocolate aroma. The flavor is sweet with roast malt, chocolate, and coffee with some hops bitterness that balances the finish nicely. Full bodied. Excellent.

Caña en el Lúpulo Oviedo 05..12..2017. (r554). Color negro intenso con espuma beige oscuro persistente. Sabores intensos maltosos con toques caramelizados, ligeros dulces maltosos tostados. Alicorados. Cacaos y vainillas al calentar, ganando también en densidad. Cuerpo medio no muy denso, fino y fácil de beber. Bastante buena para repetir.
