Bottle from the Davis Co-Op. Pours dark brown with a creamy/foamy tan head. Aroma starts with celery and develops to dark treacly malt and a hint of chocolate. Med body or better. Flavor is dark treacly malt, a little green/hop/herb and some dusty/dark/earthy chocolate. It's pretty dry and decently bitter. Hop for sure, but I can't identify it. Pretty nice Black IPA. Nicer than many.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home after Catan. Translucent cola brown pour - hazy with a light tan head. Aroma is milk chocolate, grassy hops, also kind of urine. Taste is fresh grassy bitter hops with chocolate roastiness. Light slightly chalky palate. Not bad at all but probably wouldn't get again.

On tap at Bitter Phew, pours black with a large brown head. Aroma brings out loads of roasted malt and piney hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with a highly roasted, nearly burnt malt quality upfront, backed by tons of bitter piney hops. Nicely balanced, with a harsh finish that works. Very good.

Tap at Bitter Phew. Killer black IPA, sweetness tempers the normal roast grain bitterness. Black pour with tons of lacing. Mild roast grain aroma leads into taste that is equal parts sweet and bitter. Pleasant lingering bitterness (burnt toast) and sweet (dark chocolate).
