(04.03.2017) ACBF 2017. Thank you for sharing kraddel, tderoeck, Travlr & friends. Sampled draft. Black, huge tanned thick lacing head. Nose is umami, herbal cacao, roast, herbal. Taste is herbal, very big on roast, overly roasted, bitter for me with little else, grainy, burned coffee. Body is thick herbal roasted malts. I do not know how Rowan berries taste.+ (15.04.2017) 330 ml. bottle @ Drugie Dno. When I had acquired a taste for Polish Baltic porters, I know that this one is an RIS but the profile is there. Black creamy collapsing tanned head. Nose is thick umami, soy sauce, sweet licorice & candy. Taste is huge roasted umami, molasses, licorice, sugar, umami & the sweetness balancing each other, huge mocha, chocolate. Stupidly thick, very nice. Upped from 3.5 to 4.3.

Sampled @ ACBF Vichte 2017. Fast schwarze Farbe, geringe beige Schaumkrone. Geruch ist dezent süß schokoladig malzig. Geschmack nach Lakritze, Schokolade, minze.

Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet, malty, caramel, banana, dried fruits, some chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: malty, very roasted, dark chocolate, bit hoppy.

Bottle, 0.33l. Thick black pour with one finger creamy beige head. Good retention. Sweet on the nose, malty with lots of caramel. Liquor and berries. Really nice cocoa notes. Medium to full body with soft but lively carbonation. Thick and oily texture. Sweet taste with notable alcohol presence. Aroma is heavy malt with lots of berries. Caramel, sugar, syrup. Licorice. Strong alcohol burn, liquory, ending with some unpleasant bitterness on the tongue. Boozy finish with strong aroma of berries. Overall, pretty good. That off-placed bitterness ruins it a bit, but still... nice one.

Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and roasted rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily. 030217
