Bottle bought @ Landbierparadies. Labeled only with bockbier but I think this is the right one. Pours clear Amber with a very small frothy beige head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and floral with dark bread, caramel, hay, moist soil, raisins and subtle hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty, floral and tiny metallic. Mouthfeel is soft, round, very tiny watery and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with dark bread, caramel, toffee, hay, moist soil, minerals and hits of alcohol and iron. Solid malt backbone but a bit light and brought down with some iron in the taste. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hetzelsdorfer Weihnachtsbock on 26 Dec 2015 at 22:04 - Score: 6. Original review text: Jansson, köttbullar, gravlax, sill och så klart BOCK!! Solid malt backbone but a bit thin and metallic.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, leicht schokoladig, Karamell, würzig.

0.5l bottle. Clear amber body, white head. Aroma of grains, bread, toast and floral hops. Taste of grains and bread with a hint of toast and some fruity hops. It’s OK, but I think it could also have some caramel and dark fruit character to it.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012, London. Pours lightly hazy amber with a fine, white foam head. Sugary bread nose, some caramel. Medium sweet flavor with tons of sugary caramel. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sugary sweet finish with more caramel. Pretty one-dimensional, but I suppose that’s about all you can expect of most bocks.
