330ml Bottle - Black in colour. Coffee and plain chocolate stand out in the aroma. Coffee, plain chocolate and roasted malt in the taste. Rich, yet smooth and very drinkable.

33cl bottle from the Windsor Farm Shop. Looks and pours just like a cola drink - the same colour and with a fizzy, fast fading, beige head; the aroma is more grown-up with earthy chocolate malts; the feel is light with some woody caramel and milky chocolate before an extremely dry, almost milky, finish. (8/27/2012 - 6/3/6/3/13=3.1)
Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. An opaque pour with a dark damson colour and a tight beige head; aroma of tasted grains; soft silky body with a lightly roasted grain taste, quite oaty and with a trace of coffee; then a clean finish with some lingering sweetness. (1/30/2016 - 6/4/6/3/12 = 3.1)

(Cask at The Rake, Southwark, London, 20 April 2012) Black colour with frothy, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with freshly ground coffee, dark rye bread and hints of ashes. Malty, roasted taste with notes of fresh black coffee, dark rye bread, cocoa and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Nice one.

Gravity cask at Stourbridge beer festival. Pours dark brown with a thin head. Aroma had astringent bitter coffee and a little vanilla. Taste had cold bitter coffee throughout. Very drinkable but a bit one sided.

Cask at Wandsworth Beer Festival, March 2012. It pours very dark brown, with a thin white head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, smoke, chocolate and coffee. The taste is roasted malt, coffee, earth, dark fruit, currant, fig, ripe coconut, cocoa and a touch of tanginess, with a dry finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and good balance. One of the best of the fest.
