The recipe for this beer changed in 2012 to this lower ABV version with different hops.

A delicious ruby red ale with a blend of American and New Zealand hops for a spicy finish. The bold fruitiness of this ale will surprise the uninitiated but you’ll be back for more!

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Fergus. Light haze on this amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Airy malt, mildly tangy. Floralness that develops bitterness. Little citric peel. Some malty creamy sweetness emerges before a floral dry finish. Passable.

Bottle at Level 42, thanks to Fergoose, 14/11/16. Hazed orange amber with a moderate off white head. Nose is grains, bready, vanilla, corn, pale malts. Taste comprises earthy fruits, spice, grains, straw, damp cloth. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation, semi drying close. Not great.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Fergus. Pours clear copper-gold with a dense, creamy off-white head. Light floral hops in the nose, some citrus peel, perfume. Light sweet flavour with more floral notes, dry and lightly toasted pale malts, lemon zest, light leafy bitterness. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Pretty basic in the finish, with more perfume notes, flower petals, leaves, citrus peel. Quite simple overall.

Bottle shared on Level 42 14/11/2016. From me. A reddy amber coloured pour with a little hazed and frothy beige head. Aroma is jammy red berries, nutty malts, little toffee, orange. Flavour is composed of nutty malts, biscuit, jammy berries, woodland fruit, nutty. Mellow English yeast esters. Palate is frothy carbonation, dry finish. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to Fergoos at level 42. It pours clear copper with a Haick off - white head. The aroma is bread, little bit sweaty, cereal, grain and a bit of toffee. The taste is dry, weak bitterness, soda water, wood, leather, citrus rinse, straw and cereal with a dry finish. Light body and high, foamy carbonation. Pretty wishy washy.

Cask at The Bow Bar. Pours clear ruby, thick off-white head. Light red fruit aromas, light spice. Taste is well balanced sweet and bitter. Slightly sweet on the finish, but very drinkable.
