Een krachtige bier om de eerste herfst stormen te doorstaan. In de traditie van Nederlandse bokbieren valt onze bokbier op door haar stevige smaak. Zeker niet overdreven zoet!
A strong beer to withstand the first autumn storms. In keeping with the tradition of classic Dutch bock beers, this beer stands out for its rounded and solid flavour. Certainly not overly sweet!

Keg at the brewpub, 27/09/15. Murky mahogany brown topped with a beige swirl. Nose is rich fruit, candied fruit peel, yeast, spice, bread. Taste comprises banana loaf, toffee, spice, yeast esters, brown bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok if a touch whelming.

Poured a murky medium brown with a frothy light tan head and some broken lace. The aroma is sweet malt marzipan, liqourice. The flavour is moderate sweet rich alcoholic liqourice bitter, light aniseed palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Decent doppelbock, with the taste of a ’normal’ bock. Bit spicy and malty. Been there, done that.

Tap @Proeflokaal de Prael. Clear dark ruby brown colour, small off-white head, stays a while, thin layer remains. Sweet spicy/herbal nose, roasty, grains, herbal, spicy (cloves), nutty undertones, hint of orange. Medium sweet and bitter taste, slightly sour, light sweet fruit syrup sensation. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, smooth sweetbitter finish with fruity undertones, bit roasty.

33 cl. bottle split with Marko & Sam. Procured online. Pours a dark murky brown with a smallish mocha head. Nose is very sweetish, like syrup and cheap liquid chocolate, touch bitter and lightly hoppy. Taste is quite sweet, syrup heavy, lightly sticky, cheap chocolate syrup in a good way, caramel, toffee, choco puffs, feels a bit altered, asorti chocolate musli, light hops,… Lighter syrupy body – wow quite enjoyable, totally exceeded my expectations. A lovely bock. Still wonder if they didn’t tamper a bit with this, not that, that would change my level of enjoyment of this.

Bottled, shared with 77ships (thanks!). Poured a murky dark brown body with a small off white head. Propolis and malt in the aroma, sweet. Well rounded coffee-like maltiness in the taste, only marred by a slightly overzealous carbonation. Nicely sweetish, but far from being overly sweet. All in all, surprisingly nice, reminded me in some ways of Tomislav, only more subdued.
