Een krachtige bier om de eerste herfst stormen te doorstaan. In de traditie van Nederlandse bokbieren valt onze bokbier op door haar stevige smaak. Zeker niet overdreven zoet!

A strong beer to withstand the first autumn storms. In keeping with the tradition of classic Dutch bock beers, this beer stands out for its rounded and solid flavour. Certainly not overly sweet!

Dark chocolate brown huge lacing cappucino foam. Fresh citric and fruity aroma note, candied fruit - dubbel like. Medium to light dry body, foamy mouthfee. Light roast notes, salty dryness from the yeast, big fresh citrus notes. Very easy drinkable, like a quaffable lemontart. A bit more chewyness and this would be perfect.

Bottle courtesy of Ekstedt shared @ Ekstedts bock-tasting. Pours dark reddish brown with a small off-white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is sweet, tiny sour and tiny salty with dark bread, soy, prunes and very ripe grapes. Taste is slightly sweet, tiny bitter, slightly chemical and malty with dark bread, caraway, soy, prunes and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is round and medium bodied. Finish is sweet with dark bread, prunes, soy and alcohol.

Sampled on tap at the brew pub. Pours an almost opaque, mahogany brown with a creamy, off white head. Nose is a little yeasty, some dark malt, a little sugar, otherwise mild. Flavor is really solid, dark pumpernickel bread, sweet, malty, yeasty. Flavor finishes with a great chocolate note. Medium bodied, dry finish. Wish this had a better nose because the rest of this is strong.

Bottle from Bier Koning. Clear dark brown beer. Good pale tan head. Softish palate. Good malt which is a little creamy. Whisper of marmite. Trace of hop in the finish. Somewhat one dimensional but alright.
