A brown, Belgian-style abbey ale. Caramel, banana, biscuit and fruity-aromas contribute to the balance of this strong, complex beer. A sweet, bready and caramel flavor follows with a silky, creamy finish.

Bottle at le mondiale 2011.
Dark ruby hued pour with a big frothy off white head. Aroma of biscuity, caramel malts, and loads of sugar, and ripe fruit. Flavor is all over the place. Crazy amount of sugar, ripe fruit, and and odd metalic flavor. The finish again is wildly sweet, and metallic with an unpleasant cloyingess in the finish.

Bottled. Ambery brown colour with a small off-white foamy head. Aroma is caramel, some chocolate, mild alcohol, leather and some floral and dried fruity tones. Flavour is dried fruits, some sweet malts, alcohol, mild floral, caramelly and some alcohol sweetness to it.

Bottle, 2012 I think. Pours hazy reddish amber, small tan head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is nail polish remover, oak, dates. NPR fades as the beer breathes, but that initial sniff lingers on my neurons. Flavor is light plus sweet, dark fruits, kinda biting astringency. Medium body.

Bottle during RBWG. Pours a cloudy brown with beige head. Aroma is dark fruits and caramel. Medium mouth with sweet raisin and bready malt, hides alcohol well, very good.

Tap @Ginger Man, NYC
Dark, almost opaque black color, small beige head. Caramel, cola, licorice in the nose. Medium-bodied. Sweetish, caramelly (cola candy!), low bitterness, dryish finish with some licorice. Also candy sugar and grapes. Interesting bockish dessert beer.

Great Belgian dubbel. Aroma of clove and banana, some floral hops. Pours reddish brown with some lacing ad head. Taste bitter and sweet in good balance. Some booze in finish as well. This one really grows on me. Tap at brewpub.

Bottle 2011 thanks to mikem409: Poured a deep brown color with a tan colored head. Aroma is strong dark fruit with hints of chocolate and caramel. Taste is sweet caramel malt with shards of dark fruit and carbonation, soothing cream finish. The highlight of my 2012 Turkey Day!
