Dark red-amber color, cloudy; the head reduces quickly. Perfumy malt aroma, sweet, almost like a Barley Wine, but showing signs of age. Nice barley flavor, sweet, again, similar to a Barley Wine, it has a nice fruity character, and I wouldn’t think of wine barrel if I didn’t know; the bitterness is fading, but this leaves room for the malt and fruity flavors.
Very nice.

Bottle - Vintage 2013 - Apricot, touch of boozy heat and some oxidation. Cloudy copper with a rich off white head. Caramel, light stone fruit and a light soft sweetness round this out. Starting to get some Barleywine notes and richness. Still nice for the age.

Bottled. Hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is mild coffee, grass, herbs, toffee and some wood. Also a slight bit of alcohol and fruits to it. Flavour is fruity, syrupy, toffeeish, quite nice bitterness along with some sweet malts and mild alcohol.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Cloudy brown colour, huge off-white head. Sweetish aroma of old jam, malts, herbal hops and oak. The flavour is medium sweet and vinous, notes of raisins and oak.

Hazy dark red beer, big pale cream coloured head. A little red wine on the nose. Palate is soft and mildly dry. Mildly sour sangria! Fruity red wine with a little orange. Blackcurrant and red berry fruits. Mild aniseed alcohol. Semi dry finish. Mild hop bitterness. Another belter from Evil Twin.

Bottle @ home picked up at Wine and Cheese in STL. Red cap. Pours a cloudy orangish brown appearance with a big, foamy brown head. Caramel, bready malty, herbal/earthy hoppy, a bit spicy, mild fruity aroma. Rich dark caramel malty, brown sugar, grape/plum fruity, a bit boozy flavor. Maybe a touch old.
