Recommended 330ml bottle, lotto 364, bought at Johnny’s Off License in Roma in April 2012. Partially gushing revealing a frothy white head with firm lacework. Cloudy golden body. Candied fruity smell. Sweet flavours of grapes and malts with a yeasty fruitiness beneath. Sweet fruity ending. Noticeable alcohol. Alright, too much on the sweet side though (shared with Finn, Tromsø 27.11.2013).

Bouteille 33cl, BB 21.02/2015, lot# 051/13.

Medium, rather stable yellowish head, some lace, over unclear ochrish-thinted orange beer, finishing in solid yeast. Light coffeeish onset, followed by bit harsh vegetable hops, herbal. Hint of stale cookies, too. Other grains, oatmeal cookies, alcohol, white candi sugar, lighlty coloured malts. Quite dry, at least to some extent. More oxydation warming up. Quite carbonated MF, slick, medium bodied. I’m not really over the moon. Partly succeed Duvelclone, if not colourwise? Wonder if this strange stale-ish taste is a yeast fieature? Not one to drink chambrée by any means.

Bottle. Cloudy orange with a large white head that fades to a coat. Aroma of dough, lemon pudding, vanilla, oranges, cloves. Sweet with pungent spices. Some stone fruits, candi sugar, tangy lemon, vanilla, nutmeg, white pepper. No overt alcohol. Near enough to Dulle Teve meets Avec les Bon Voeux. Very nice indeed.

Hazy deep blond color. Mild fruity and spicy aroma, light sweat. Good body structure; sweetish flavor, with some spices, some yeast and mild fruitiness.
Not as aggressive as a real Belgian, it carries some of the characteristics of American beers, but it’s quite good.
