Hmm, I almost rated this one too low, because I compared it to the draught Guinness, rather than judging it in its own right. But let’s see.. Nice dark brown colour with an creamy, tan head. Aroma close to draught Guinness, but not exactly the same. Coffee, Chicory, nuts, more of an alcohol twang. Flavour too, perhaps a bit more body. Roasted malts, chicory coffee, milk chocolate and hazelnut. Not quite as creamy as the draught Guinness, and maybe a bit light compared to other stouts, but nice in its own right. (From 33cL bottle)

330ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a large tight head. Aroma is blackberries, peat and some roasted malt. Taste starts with some roast malt, blackberry finish and a peaty aftertaste. Lovely beer.

bottle@friend’s house: I don’t like Guinness Draught but this one is not only much better but kind of nice actually, it has a nice black colour with a really thick and creamy head, it is much more balanced & tastier than Guinness Draught and in many ways is a completely different beer actually, roasted part has been smoothed out, coffee flavours are actually agreeable now, there is some dark syrup, bread and liquorice taste in there as well, the creamy & bready taste is up font and is complimented by the syrup and liquorice and the coffee taste of which only a smidgeon can be found here, bitter beginning, smoother ending, nice macro stout

brune claire, mousse beige.

Received in trade from brdc, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a solid dark brown with garnet highlights when held to the light. Fluffy mocha head persists for a while. Smells of dark dried fruits, Grainy malt and oats. Faint chocolate and roasted malts. Bit of a sour note on the nose as well. Taste is chocolate, dried dark fruits and a sour twang with a dry finish. Roast/chocolate fill the palate long after the liquid is swallowed. Mouthfeel is creamy very coating. Body is medium to thick. Carbonation is medium to high. Great export stout! This is the one that should be sold in the States, I’d buy it often if it were more available.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at St Urho’s Pub) The beer poured black. Its head was qute large and light brown. Aroma had roastedness, chcolate and hint of yeast. Palate was full bodied and bit warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, liquorice, roastedness, hops, mildly yeast and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. Sweetness a bit surprising but it fitted quite well.

33cl bottle. (Snifter). Poured black color with a huge beige head, long lasting lacing. Aroma is at first instantly recognizable as the draught milder version, but soon the roastedness kicks in along with some caramel. Very smooth, with some alcohol warmth in the finish. Flavor is caramel and roasted malt, coffee and sugar.

Black beer with quite big and beige head. Aroma is roasted, liquirice, sourness and some alcohol. A lot of roastiness and some coffee in the flavour that turns a quite dry and almost burnt in the end. Quite smooth, medium bodied beer with balanced carbonation. Simple and roasted beer without other nuancees; now still easy and simple beer to enjoy.
