Voraciously hoppy and not overly bitter. The Kind brings enormous aroma and maximum flavor. It’s like taking a walk through a pine forest and ending up at a citrus farm. This beer brings joy to the world, one sip at a time.

Orange with a medium white head. Aroma is citrus, lightly sweet, some pine. Medium body. Flavor is nice bright fruits, light pine, enough sweet malts to add some complexity but not drown the hop bitterness. really refreshing IPA and one I’d like to see in front of me more often.

22 ounce bottle. Hazy amber gold color topped by a rocky off-white head. Piney hop nose. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor balanced by a subtle grapefruit hoppiness. Very smooth and nicely balanced, somewhat light bodied for an IPA. Finish is bitter and lingers nicely.

Whole Foods, Vienna 22oz ($6): Pours a light amber color with a thick and creamy head. Aroma is fine: pine and citrus hops. Something is off in the taste though. I feel as though this is not exactly the best balanced IPA out there. It seems almost watery. The hops are there, but they have nothing to really hold on to. Basically, there is not enough body and not enough balance even though the flavours themselves are ok.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and piney notes is quite dominant with some semi-sweet caramel malt notes also distinguishable. Taste is also a balanced mix between some citrus and piney notes with some residual sugar and caramelized malt also noticeable. Body is quite full with good carbonation. More floral hoppy notes would have helped provided further enjoyment of this beer.

Draft at NOVA BrewFest. Poured a nice clear orange color with a small, but solid white head. Aroma was nice citrus, with a touch biscuit malt in there - sweetness to it that was quite pleasant. Pine notes for sure. Flavor was nice pine, with bitterness, well balanced with sweet malts. Pretty darn refreshing.

ChrisOs Early December Tasting. Light haze on this gold beer. Little off white head. Smooth semi dry palate. Fair bit of pale malt. Nice pine and citrus hops with a good balance between them. Semi dry finish with some bitter linger. Decent.

Super hazy, honey coloured copper and bright orange hues with a thinnish creamy tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, curacao, citrus, grapefruit and a bit of sugar. Medium-bodied; Assertive hops up front that fade to a cardboardie malt with very little else - perhaps some citrus and sugars. Aftertaste is very mild with only a little hops at first and then a big vast nothingness. Overall, a good smelling and tasting (at first) beer, but there is absolutely no depth and no complexity at all with this one. Still, nice to try it from Custom Brewcrafters (I used to live up there), but this isn’t really worth searching out. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2011 for US$6.99 sampled at home in Washington on 08-March-2012.

Tap @ Chapter House, Ithaca. Clear, light golden appearance with a fluffy, off-white head. Lightly resiny, somewhat spicy, slightly piney hoppy, toasted malty aroma. Tangy, tangerine citrusy, bitter hoppy, cracker malty flavor.

Bottled@my birthdaybash@Chriso. Golden colour, small creamy white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is fruity, floral, mild strawberries as well as quite malty. Flavour is similar with some caramel and crystal malts. Mild wooden notes in the finish as well. Long wooden, fruity and floral aftertaste.
