Cask at the Wandsworth Common Spring BF, Le Gothique, London. Pours clear, red-brown with a bubbly, white head. Light roast, leather and toffee in the aroma. Medium sweet flavor with notes of chocolate and toasty toffee. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mild roasty finish with dusty cocoa, toasty dark sugars. Good beer. Straight-ahead porter.

Cask at Wandsworth Beer Festival, March 2012. It pours hazy deep ruby, with a thin bubbly off-white head. The nose is caramel, spice, roasted malt, charcoal, chocolate and cardboard. The taste is roasted malt, chocolate, charcoal, chewy malt, touch of tangy dark fruit and filter coffee, with a long, dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not bad.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A brilliant first impression - deep browny black in colour but with a bright raspberry red glow at the bottom of the glass, topped with a tight cream head; the aroma is of intense milk chocolate; the flavour is full of rich fruity chocolate, but rather thin and milky; then the finish is dry and nutty. this is like a bar of fruit and nut chocolate in a glass. Excellent, but needs just a bit more weight to be truely amazing.
