The nose is slightly malty with pronounced hoppiness. Hops dominate in the flavour but there is good amount of balancing malt.

Fra cask på White Horse, Parsons Green 20 Mai 11. Gyldenbrun. Lavt skum som setter nivåmerker på glasset. God fruktig aroma. Smaken er tung fruktig. Ettersmaken det samme. Litt kjedelig - men god.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 20 May 2011) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, orange, apricots, hints of yeast and earthy hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, orange peel and earthy hops in a fairly bitter finish. Slightly more than medium body, with some sweetness. Very nice and solid ESB.

Minicask from Thornbridge brewery, Bakewell 22.04.11 consumed in at Loz’s mums 21.05.11 Pours hazy orange amber its a little hazy. Loads of soapy hops and quite perfumey, maybe even some spice in here. Medium bitterness in the mouth, mmhhh.. its ok but nothing like what Thornbridge are usually capable of. A6 A2 T7 P3 Ov13 3.1

Jolly Butchers. Slightly hazy brown beer, residual white head. Light semi dry palate. Tiny bit of caramel malt. Vague red fruit notes in the background. Semi dry finish with mild bitterness. Occasionally Thornbridge make me go ’wow’ and occasionally they invoke a ’meh’. This is the latter!

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2011. Clear chestnut. Lasting bubbly beige. Biscuit peppery hop ESB aroma. Very good satisfying beer with good peppery black hop. Really quite biting on finish. Good though. Pretty much a recraetion of Fullers ESB but slightly better. Not really my style. Lacks condition. Good flavours but would be even better in good nick
