Roasted Hazlenuts & Java Coffee have been added to our creamy Milk Stout to produce a comforting coffee rich beer with a delicious hazlenut sweetness. The favourite beer at our 2010 Factoberfest, this is the first time we have bottled it. A rare treat of a beer, enjoy, once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aorma has notes of coffee, roasted malt, and nuts. The flavor is sweet with notes of hazelnuts, malt, and a bit of coffee, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of madmitch76. Pours an almost clear dark nutty brown with a brownish head - comes slowly gushing. Roasty nose, somewhat chiliish - no real hazelnut. Medium body, overripe dark fruit - AND a lactic infection. Some cocoa powder. 221112

Bottle at Pat’s Birthday Tasting at Chriso’s, London. Pours brown with a small, off-white head. Big hazelnut coffee aroma. Very true. Light to medium sweet flavor with filter coffee and moderate roasted malts. Medium in body with fine carbonation. Tangy coffee finish with faint roast notes. Not too impressive. (3.2)
Bottle shared at The Kernel during my birthday celebration, London. Very badly infected. I really couldn’t drink this. A shame. (1.8)

Bottle during Leighton’s birthday celebrations. It pours very dark brown, with a thick light tan head. The nose is caramel, toffee, coffee, roasted malt and hazelnut syrup. The taste is disappointingly dominated by tangy sourness..... other than that there is a touch of roasted malt/coffee/nut but you have to really search for it. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A big disappointment as I really like a lot of the stouts these guys do.

ChrisOs Early December Tasting. Clear red - brown beer. Small bubbly tan head. Tart dark malt with obvious and somewhat sour hazlenut. Coffee. Finishes semi dry. Tasty but the nuts are a little too tart.

Bottle at home shared with my dad 20.12.11 ordered direct from Bristol Beer Factory. Pours black with a light beige head. There is a very slight sourness on the nose and also in the mouth, I was a little worried about this at first though I have to confess its didn’t particularly affect this beer, just unsure if this was intentional. The coffee flavours flood through and there is a definite nutty edge along with some fruitiness. The coffee again showing, its nice but a slight dip in form compared to the previous two beers.
