(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 20 May 2011) Black colour with brief, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of freshly ground coffee, cocoa and some ashes. Roasted, malty taste with coffee, moccha, cocoa, ashes and a mild coffee bitterness in a dry finish. Rather light body, mainly dry. Tasty, well balanced and highly drinkable stout.

On tap at the White Horse. Clear dark red - brown beer. Residual tan head. Light semi dry palate. Minerally mild dark malt. Tangy fruit - turns very orangey. Any coffee is very subtle but this is a nice tangy fruity beer. Dry finish.

Cask handpull at Ship & Mitre Liverpool. Black with dark brown edges. Thin tan head. So I was expecting some choc and coffee. Its has some of those flavors bit not in any great or intrnse quantities. Tasty enough but vears more to liqurice stout than mocha for me. Ok though

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 1/11/10. Dark brown with a decent, off-white head. Roasty, coffee aroma with some dark fruit and grassy hops. Flavour had more of the same with a decent dry finish. Good.
