Our version of Black is Beautiful is a 12.5% Imperial Stout, treated with Ecuadorian cacao nibs & Mexican vanilla beans! There's no hidden message here; we just REALLY like adjuncted stouts, especially those with a decadent chocolate & rich vanilla flavor profile.

We signed up for the Black is Beautiful initiative back in June, developed by our friends at @weatheredsoulsbrewing in San Antonio. This industry-wide collaborative effort is intended to raise awareness for the racial injustices that people of color face on a daily basis. We're coming at this project from the viewpoint of empathy and love, especially since beer is the common thread that brings people together from all walks of life. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this beer will go to our local chapter of the @naacp, where we will work with them to divert funds to where they are needed most among their efforts in our community.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated August 04, 2020. Aroma is very chocolate forward with loads of dark chocolate and bitter chocolate. Quite a bit of vanilla and lighter notes of roast, dark caramel, toffee and toasted bread. Light alcohol spice. Pours jet black with a large, thick, dark mocha head that recedes steadily to a small, thick, film that lingers. Flavor is very sweet with lots of dark and bitter chocolate notes. Quite a bit of roast and leather with lighter notes of caramel, toffee and toasted bread. Moderately strong bitterness and light alcohol spice. Medium light vanilla notes. Mouthfeel is full bodied and creamy with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice stout with solid vanilla and chocolate notes. Loads of creamy, dark, bitter chocolate. Alcohol is well hidden.
