Tap at Rattle n Hum. As a big fan of hefeweizens, I didn’t think this beer stood up to some of it’s peers. A good beer, to be sure, but not outstanding. Pours a hazy yellow with a light fluffy head. Nose of coriander and yeast. Flavor is mildly spicy, with strong fruity and yeasty notes. Reasonably carbonated and medium bodied. Smooth finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Hazy yellow with a dense shaving foam style head. Aroma of nothing much - perhaps a little fruit - but neither coriander nor any yeast in either aroma or flavour. Medium body, lightly sweet fruit and a somewhat astringent finish. Not bad as such, just very bland. 250709

Grass and feet aroma. Hazy golden with a thick white head, good lacing. Coriander and grass flavor. Spinach finish. Not a good representative of the style, but worth drinking.

22 oz bomber purchased at Gomers in Lenexa, Kansas. Pour is cloudy orange yellow golden with a nice one inch white head. Falls with nice lacing. Aroma of earthy grain, wheat and a nice yeastiness. There is also another layer of mineral earthiness and some citrus. Coriander is evident as it warms. Taste is dirty grassy wheat, followed by mineral, and slight citrus. The finish has some yeastiness which is more like the normal Rogue yeast than Hefe. Palate is medium thin, a little dirty, decently drinkable.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma has some wheat and a bit of the ginger. Flavor is some breadyness but i don’t really get any spice out of this. Just an average wheat beer and it has a few things going for it but not many.

Bomber. Pours a pale golden with a small white head that quickly diminshes to nothing. The aroma is a sweet fruit malt with orange peel and lemon zest. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The taste is grain and hop with a nice spicy finish. Easy to drink, a decent wheat ale from Rogue.

On tap at Q-Brick in Osaka. Strong ginger and spice nose. Wheat malt character of medium strength. Rather simple, and relying too much on the ginger, I felt. Ok, but I don’t feel I need to drink it again.

Bomber from GM Liquors: Nose is corriander, ginger, and some light floral hoppiness covering a weak banana note; hazy yellow with a big, glass-lacing white head; flavor is hop bitterness, peppery spiciness, and a background vegtal note; finish is lightly bitter.
