5th May 2015: cask half-pint in a Royal Oak, somewhere in London. Preferred the bottled version if my writing up of that is anything to go by. This was not in very good condition, not the breweries fault I suppose. Golden as the name suggests, white head. Boring blend with not much going on in the nose or flavour. Mild floral hop notes in the aroma and some light maltiness in the taste otherwise nothing.

On tap at The Railway, Buxton. Crystal clear golden beer with solid white head. Bitter mouthfeel, easy drinking. Finish is slightly fruity hops. Nice to drink in the sun, like today.

Sample at ACAT. Nice gold color, with a small, off-white. Bubbly head. Bright aroma of roses, pine, caramel, and a little rye. Sweet and malty, with a not insignificant bitterness. Light body, creamy, and clean. Very nice, sessionable beer.

First reviewed at the White Swan in Hebden Bridge, with a re-rate at the glorious red-brick frontage Victoria Tavern in Barrow-in-Furness. Golden with head. Lovely light tropical fruit aroma with a more malted bitterness in its flavour.

Cask @ George II, Luton. Mid to dark gold, clear, with foamy head and a fair bit of lacing. Simple yet confusing aroma of citrus, caramel and toffee. Bittersweet taste with that telltale diacetyl buttery overtone. Bitter, slightly acrid finish. This doesnโ€™t do anything for me; maybe itโ€™s more palatable in slightly better condition but I fear itโ€™s just not a great ale.

Cask at the Belle Vue, High Wycombe. Deep gold with a small white head. Citrus and floral flavours. Pleasantly hoppy and refreshing. A pleasant surprise from GK for once.
