Cask, half-pint, shared with Finn at The Salamander. Upper part lacing, filmy layer, clear golden body. Aroma of brown malts, earthy. Mixed taste of caramel malts and herbal hops follow by a decent bittersweet tail. Straightforward. (Bath 03.05.2017).

A completely surprise find at the Idea store in Kotor. Slightly hazy old gold body with a tiny white head. Malty aroma, creamy, light raisins surprisingly, somewhat dry and earthy, just a touch stale. The taste, though the body is not the fullest ever, is thankfully quite strong. The almost chocolatey earthiness from Maris is surprisingly there, and so are the citric, herbal notes from the Goldings. I mean, really obvious, before you read the ingredients. Balanced by a "generic" malty touch too. Light hoppy bitterness. This isn’t a world beater, but what it definitely is is a nice, drinkable, balanced, flavorful classic English golden ale, a superb change of pace in Montenegro, even if it does cost 3€ (trice the cost of Nikšićko). Glad to have tried it.
