Cask at the Fulflood Arms, Winchester - 09/09/12. Clear pale golden with a minimal off white head. Strong malt nose with a touch of grain and barley. Taste doesn’t really deviate from the nose, where are the hops? Meh ! Light to medium in body, pretty flat with hardly any carbonation. Boring.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise. Clear, rich gold pour with a ring of film. Has a soft hay malt aroma with hints of grass and leaves. There is some nice citric bitterness in the flavor that gives way to a slightly doughy, slightly buttery malt character. Light in body with fine, good carbonation. Some crispy malts on the finish, bit of residual sugar, light leafy, citrusy hops. Not bad.

23rd July 2010.
On tap at the Old Dispensary - Aldgate E1. This may be an Old Dispensary special as the pump clip has an Image of Landlady Annie done up as Florence Nightingale. Clear amber beer with a good white head. Semi dry palate. Pretty intense orange marmalade with a reasonable amount of bitterness. A little sweet orange comes through before the finish but then there is bitterness again in the aftertaste. Impressively strong flavour for it’s abv - and a beer in great condition. 2011 note - suprised to find this has been aliased. The beer rated was called ’Florence Nightingale’.

Cask at the Castle, as Redcar Best Bitter. Amber with a thin white head; striaghtforward aroma of malt and hops; rich fruity malt flavours with some earthy caramel; a gentle bitterness to finish. Everything you could expect from a pint of bitter.
